Jordana Lebowitz

founder & executive Director

Jordana was inspired by participating in the March of the Living when she was 16 to become an advocate for Holocaust remembrance and human rights. She attended the trial of convicted former Nazi officer Oskar Groening in 2015 and co-authored a novel about her experiences there with established Holocaust author Kathy Kacer. She completed placements at the Museum of Tolerance in California; the Jewish Holocaust Centre in Australia; the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights in Montreal; and the Holocaust Outreach Programme at United Nations Headquarters in New York. Jordana aspires to create interactive programming on the topic of the Holocaust and social justice and conducts book tours worldwide. She recently presented as a speaker and Master of Ceremonies at the 2018 United Nations International Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony. She is a recent graduate of Psychology from the University of Guelph and is pursuing her Masters of Education at the University of Southern California. Jordana takes time to pursue her passions including speaking about her experiences.

Sagi Kahane-Rapport

Creative Director

Sagi Kahane-Rapport is a film and commercial director based in Toronto, Canada. With an internationally distributed feature film and numerous award winning shorts under his belt, Sagi is constantly looking for new creative boundaries to push. With several Holocaust survivors in the family, Sagi was proud to lend his technical and creative skills to the creation of The Cattle Car exhibit.

Jennifer Brodie

DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL PROJECTS

Jennifer grew up in a home where Holocaust education was imperative. From a young age, her mother was heavily involved in legacy creation, specifically for Russian Jewish World War II veterans and survivors from the former Soviet Union. Jennifer has always been involved in Jewish advocacy, taking active roles in her high school and university promoting Holocaust education and interfaith collaboration. Outside of her day job, Jennifer loves devoting time to ShadowLight because she believes in our mission of innovative education and learning. Focusing on special projects, Jennifer sources new and exciting events for the ShadowLight community!

Naomi Goldenfajn-Abrahams

Director of programs

Naomi, the granddaughter of a Holocaust Survivor, considers working with ShadowLight to be a once in a lifetime opportunity. She is committed to rendering accessible Holocaust education for the future generations of young learners.  Aside from her time with ShadowLight, she is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Ottawa and hopes to begin her PhD in Social Work soon after.

Samantha Richmond

Director of learning and development

Sam has been immersed in Holocaust education through her years in Jewish Day School and participation on the March of the Living. She aims to continuously further her Holocaust education. As Sam is set to graduate from her Masters of Teacher at OISE in the Spring, she also strives to educate our future generations. Sam joined ShadowLight in the Spring of 2020 and has helped create some of the exhibit's education program, specifically the focus on the Righteous Among the Nations.

Malorie Appel

director of education

Malorie has been involved in ShadowLight for the past three years, specifically in the area of education. She has her Masters in Teaching from OISE, UT and created the educational plan for teachers to follow when the Cattle Car comes to their schools. Malorie is passionate about Holocaust education as the great-grandchild of two holocaust survivors. She grew up hearing their stories and wants to pass on these stories to the next generation. She believes that ShadowLight is a wonderful outlet to do this.
