Education Team

Jori Reiken

Educator

"The highlight of this tour is facilitating meaningful conversations with students about the consequences of hate and discrimination. It is meaningful to listen to students about their knowledge of the Holocaust, hear their questions, and learn with them as they move through the Cattle Car Exhibit and the Artifact Collection while connecting this knowledge to their experiences in their community. This first month of the tour has already shown how crucial it is for all students to participate in this tour."

Sim Borodach

DIRECTOR OF Operations and Development

Sim brings a suite of skills coming from his startup experience. From working on back-end software, to nonprofit fundraising technology, consulting, and operations, Sim seeks to reinforce a high performance culture where the best idea wins, we ‘yes and’, we lead one another, and we work with our full hearts.

Rooted in the Torah’s agricultural framework, Sim strives to support an environment of regenerative growth, inclusive community, and learning from nature (and one another). As Reb Nahman teaches, “every shepherd has their song...so too does every grass.”

From parks and beaches in Los Angeles, to campground throughout California’s wilderness, Sim finds strength, healing, & grounding in natural settings.

As Jordana’s life-partner and member of Israel, Sim feels blessed to be a part of this tremendous mission to connect ancestral heritage with future generations through learning, sharing, and hope.

“This tour to me means impacting the lives of our future nation through educating and inspiring the youth. It’s important for these students to understand the injustices we have seen in our past to make sure we prevent similar reoccurrences. A lot of minorities in this country are under represented and it is time that we stand together in unity for the greater good. Seeing how thankful the students are after experiencing what we have to offer reminds me that we are reaching them in the best way possible.”
